Myths and Facts

Myth: Lab- Grown Diamonds are synthetic in nature.

Fact: There are of course synthetic diamonds out there, but lab-grown diamonds are unlike them. These man-made diamonds are 100% carbon which is grown from the tiny carbon seeds of pre-existing diamonds making them turn into a real diamond procured from a different origin.

Myth: Lab-Grown Diamonds aren’t the same as naturally mined specimens.

Fact: There is little or no difference between an earth-mined and a lab-grown diamond. The diamond forms deep under the surface of the earth due to the penetrating heat and pressure, or if the diamond is grown in a lab that mimics the same conditions, the quality and authenticity continue to be the same.

Myth: Lab-Grown diamonds are not as pure as natural diamonds

Fact: It is extremely difficult to find natural diamonds with the transparency analogous to lab-grown diamonds. Only 2% of diamonds found under the earth’s surface reach the level of purity that is expected from cultured diamonds.

Myth: Lab-Grown diamonds are cheaper to manufacture

Fact: Natural diamonds are formed more than 150 kms below the surface of the earth. And after the effort to get there, the diamonds have to be organized, cut and polished. In a laboratory environment, the process of digging and mining gets excluded. The cost of cutting and polishing a rough diamond into a commercial quality diamond gemstone will always cost the same money. The process including artificially grown diamonds is one of the most challenging and precise manufacturing techniques that can only be achieved by skilled PHD, Physicians and Chemists. It is nearly impossible that the manufacturing cost of these diamonds will ever go down.
Besides, each MPCVD (Microwave Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition) reactor costs more than half a million dollars and needs continues Research & Development Expenditure which increases the investment.

Myth: There is no way to tell if a lab-grown specimen is conflict free

Fact: Lab-grown diamonds are conflict-free irrespective of where they are grown. They are sourced from first world nations where they are treated and cut in controlled modern-day laboratories. Natural diamonds, on the other hand, have to be examined to guarantee that they are conflict-free.

Myth: Lab-Grown diamonds are harmful to the environment

Fact: A lab diamond has the same physical, chemical and optical properties of a mined diamond. It will not change its color and appearance. It will look exactly the same even after a million years as it does the day it’s polished. In fact, if you placed your lab diamond engagement ring in a lab vat? of concentrated hydrochloric acid and nitric acid the gold or platinum would soften but your diamonds wouldn’t! The only way a lab diamond could be damaged is the exact similar way that a mined diamond could be damaged.

Myth: Lab-Grown diamonds change in appearance over a period of time

In fact, if you placed your lab diamond engagement ring in a lab vat? of concentrated hydrochloric acid and nitric acid the gold or platinum would soften but your diamonds wouldn’t! Myth: Lab-Grown diamonds have no resale value because they are made in factory

Fact: Lab-grown diamonds are moderately new to the marketplace and must find their place in the resale chain. The machinery required to replicate the conditions 100 miles below the Earth’s surface is very expensive, each press costing between USD 500,000 and inreach plus arrangement.
Mined diamonds are freely found. The “added value” comes from marketing expenses add-on. On average, natural diamond costs USD 200 per carat to mine from the earth!

Myth: Lab-Grown diamonds will lose its value

Fact: Unlike mined diamonds, Lab-grown diamonds have a short and more transparent supply chain. All our diamonds are assured to be substituted or exchanged.

Myth: Natural or Earth-mined diamonds are extremely rare

Fact: Not only are diamonds in abundant supply across different parts of the world but they are waiting to be sold. The professed rarity is only due to the sensible decision made to restrict the market supply.
